Early life Von Detten began acting professionally at age seven. His acting career began when he was cast in several commercials for McDonald’s restaurants. During filming of one of these commercials he expressed a desire to be a big screen actor.

This prompted Mac and Me director Stewart Raffill to introduce him to an agent of his acquaintance. Von Detten had aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player, even though he was struggling with leukemia at the time.

After Raffill introduced him to an agent, he began taking acting lessons and eventually dropped out of high school to pursue his newfound career.

He has appeared in several TV series including The Young and the Restless (where he played Danny Romalotti’s son), Baywatch, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose as well as many other TV shows. In addition, von Detten has co-starred in films such as Little Giants, James and the Giant Peach, Thumbelina , Don Bluth’s Thumbelina , Rocket Power (film) , The Pebble and the Penguin (has no penguin roles) , Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Monster Mash: The Movie (not to be confused with the film of the same name), Rugrats Go Wild!, Penny Proud can dance to anything, Swindle (film) , Legally Blondes. He also guest starred on Barney & Friends as himself in the episode “A Day in His Shoes” along with former child actor Frankie Muniz.

Personal life: From 1994-1999 Von Detten was married to actress Jennifer Lyons. After their divorce he married actress Tricia Leigh Fisher on April 16, 2002. They have two children together, son Tully Troy von Detten born on December 17th 2007 and daughter Presley Kalani von Detten born on September 3rd 2009.

Filmography: He is best known for his work in the Rugrats films, most notably Rugrats Go Wild! , James and the Giant Peach , Thumbelina, Don Bluth’s Thumbelina , Rocket Power (film) . His only role in a sequel was also in Rugrats Go Wild!, where he played Dil Pickles.
